Mr. Ellis is an experienced mining executive and engineer with over 50 years of experience in operations, open pit, start-up management, and the capital markets. He currently serves as a director of Hycroft Mining Corp (formerly Allied Nevada Gold) and Jaguar Mining Inc, two mid-size gold producers in the Americas.

Previously, Mr. Ellis served as Vice President of Kennecott Copper, Senior Vice President of Inspiration Mining Corp North America, which produced 80,000 tonnes/year of refined copper in rod/wire products and 3 million tonnes of coal per year in the US; as Vice Chairman of Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co; and as Managing Director for Western Gold Exploration, where he was responsible for all open pit, underground operations, mill activities for gold/zinc/copper, including resource sales. He was previously Chairman and CEO of Anglo Gold North America, setting up Anglo's gold mining ventures in the Americas. His responsibilities included gold exploration, acquisition, and operation of projects in the US, Canada, and Mexico. He also provided guidance to Inco in Indonesia in the early 2000's for a large nickel laterite mine producing 160 million pounds of nickel, annually.

Mr. Ellis has also served as a director of International Tower Hills Mines, Queenstake Resources, Cashman Equipment, and Sunshine Silver Mines. He has been a consultant to several large-scale multi-national mining groups including CRVD-Inco, BHP Biliton, AngloGold Ashanti, and Anglo American.

Mr. Ellis is a Professional Engineer licenced in British Columbia. Mr. Ellis is a graduate of Haileybury School of Mines (Mining Diploma, 1958). He received his Bachelor of Science (Metallurgical) from Montana Technological University in 1964.
